As a football fanatic, I’ve always dreamed of experiencing first-hand all that the Super Bowl has to offer.

When I discovered that the big football game was going to be played in New York City, I knew I had to be there. Imagine excited sports fans from all over the world gathering in one of the coolest cities on earth; it was bound to be the trip of a lifetime.

Exploring The Big Apple

To maximize my time in the city, I kicked off my vacation aboard an open-air tour bus for a unique glimpse of Manhattan and its many incredible sights. I chose the hop-on, hop-off option, lingering at some of the city’s most impressive attractions. For a brief escape from the bustling city streets, I ducked into Central Park to reconnect with nature before exploring the vibrant city yet again.

You can also take a tour at Madison Square Garden, “The World’s Most Famous Arena.” Located in midtown Manhattan, Madison Square Garden hosts professional basketball and hockey games, boxing matches, and numerous performances and concerts. I highly recommend making time for the All Access Tour. Our knowledgeable guide took us behind the scenes for an in-depth look at the venue’s history and secrets, from the VIP suites to the locker rooms and even the keg room!

Whether it’s the stunning new Freedom Tower, the iconic Statue of Liberty, or one of the city’s many distinctive neighborhoods, there’s no shortage of incredible things to see.

The Historic Empire State Building

New York City’s stunning vistas are best appreciated from above. With that in mind, I made my way to the world-famous Empire State Building to soak in its breathtaking views. Thanks to a passionate and insightful tour guide, I learned the landmark’s fascinating history and explored its captivating exhibits. Eighty-six floors up, the Observatory offers magnificent views of Manhattan and beyond. Peering out from its dizzying heights, I couldn’t help but feel the true magnitude and grandeur of the city.

Super Bowl Week Events

Super Bowl week brings a heightened enthusiasm to any city, and New York is no different. The energy was unparalleled. Covering a 13-block stretch of Broadway, Super Bowl Boulevard was electric with football fans from all over the world taking part in free games, meet-and-greets with famous players and even an 18-meter toboggan ride. Macy’s Herald Square was at the center of it all, with massive projections of NFL games playing on its historic façade and a whole floor dedicated to its vast array of NFL merchandise. To reward myself after a successful afternoon shopping, I headed to the Herald Square Café for a snack – their truffle mac and cheese is to die for! After fitting in a free makeover at the Chanel counter, I checked out a fun tailgate event at The Courtyard by Marriott, indulging in a few creative cocktails and some delicious munchies.
